Northwest Florida Community Hospital CEO Patrick Schlenker this week announced the promotion of Janet Kinney, Administrative Director of Support Services, to the position of Chief Operating Officer for the hospital.
A 33-year veteran employee of the facility, Kinney started work at the hospital on February 27, 1977 and has held virtually every senior position in the organization, including Acting CEO. In addition, Kinney has been the hospital safety officer for many years and responsible for all major construction projects.
‘Currently Janet Kinney is coordinating the renovation of our second floor patient rooms and construction of the new Wound Healing Institute that is scheduled for completion in June of this year’ CEO Schlenker stated, ‘we are grateful for all she has done for the hospital and proud to promote her to the second highest position in the organization.’
Schlenker goes on to state, ‘Janet has been an integral part of our day-to-day operations at Northwest Florida Community Hospital for many years, and we are very fortunate to have a person of her caliber and leadership qualities as part of our staff and family.’
Serving as Materials Manager, Pharmacist Technician and Certified Health Unit Coordinator over time, Kinney was licensed as a Healthcare Risk Manager in 1995 and became Administrative Director of Support Services for the hospital in 2004.
Kinney states ‘I have been given many extraordinary opportunities during my employment at NFCH, each one allowing me to grow personally and professionally. I am humbled by the confidence in my abilities expressed by Mr. Schlenker, and appreciate the abundant support of our physicians and fellow associates. We have become a progressive and viable facility, I feel very fortunate to be part of an organization that is so involved in our community.’
Most recently in the news for sending NFCH Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Brinson McGowan, along with medical supplies and equipment, to Haiti in response to the devastating earthquake, Northwest Florida Community Hospital has started major renovation of a portion of the hospital’s patient rooms with construction slated to be complete by Fall 2010 as well as development of plans for a Wound Care Center (mentioned above) slated for June of this year.
